California Cancer Center to hold free skin cancer screening

More than 1 million people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the United States according to the American Cancer Society. But skin cancer can be prevented or caught early with regular skin checks from a physician and by following basic “Sun Safety” guidelines.

Community Medical Centers’ California Cancer Center will hold a free skin cancer screening on May 10 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Fire chief to deliver pediatric burn bed to Community Regional

Fresno Fire Department chief Randy Bruegman and his crew will deliver a fire engine pediatric burn exam bed to Community Regional Medical Center at 10 a.m. on May 9. The bed, donated by the Fresno City Fire Chief’s Foundation, is painted and shaped like a fire engine.

Surgery patients will be a lot closer to the hospital for pre-operative and post-operative care now that Community’s north and south clinics have moved over from Community Health Center-Cedar (the once-UMC campus) to the new Surgery Health Center at Community Regional Medical Center’s downtown campus.
