Hospital working to restore power to areas of building

The Table Mountain Rancheria Trauma Center at Community Regional Medical Center.
A power source that went down in Community Regional Medical Center’s central energy plant at 8 a.m. on Dec. 10 affected some of the elevators and air conditioning and heating in the trauma and critical care building of the hospital.

The Table Mountain Rancheria Trauma Center is the new, five-story building that houses the only burn and Level 1 trauma centers between Los Angeles and Sacramento. As of 11:30 a.m., two elevators were functioning, but the hospital was working to restore operation in the others, as well as the air conditioning and heating. The lighting in the building was not affected.

The building did not have to resort to using generator power, and is currently running on utility power. As the only Level 1 trauma center in the region, a precautionary measure was taken to cancel some elective surgeries to ensure the hospital has capacity for any possible emergency surgeries.
