Health Care Hero: Lydia Miller

 
They are at the patient’s side during the most joyous times in life such as the birth of a child. They are also there as the patient faces a serious illness, offering a smile and skilled hand when patients need it the most.

They are the roughly 1,700 men and women who make up Community Medical Centers’ nursing staff. They all are health care heroes with one goal in mind, to help patients get back to their loved ones and resume their normal lives.

As a way to celebrate National Nurses Week (May 6 through 12), this is the first installment of a series of “Health Care Heroes” who describe their profession and why they chose it.

Meet registered nurse Lydia Miller from the California Cancer Center. After 29 years, she still loves her job and believes in the theme for National Nurses Week – “Nurses: Making a Difference Every Day.”
