Trauma director among top 10

Lynn Bennink, R.N.
Registered nurse Lynn Bennink, Community Regional Medical Center’s trauma program director, was selected for the 2007 Top Ten Business and Professional Women of the Year Award.

The Marjaree Mason Center hosts the award ceremony to recognize outstanding women leaders in the greater Fresno area. Since it was established in 1983, this award has honored more than 200 business women and community leaders for their outstanding contributions.

The Marjaree Mason Center has the only program of shelter and comprehensive supportive services for women and children victimized by abuse and homelessness in Fresno County.

Awardees are chosen for their significant contributions to their professions as well as to their neighborhood, church or school. Their service as positive role models to others also is considered.

“I can think of no one who deserves it more,” said Dr. Jim Davis, chief of trauma at Community Regional. “Lynn has been incredible – she has established herself as one of the outstanding trauma program directors in the country.”

Dr. Davis said Bennink has held leadership positions in the national and international trauma nursing societies and is committed to furthering the tradition of excellence in trauma care at Community Regional and around the nation.
